Essential Ingredients for Your Snickers Peanut Butter Cookies
Crafting the perfect Snickers Peanut Butter Cookie starts with selecting high-quality ingredients. Each component plays a crucial role in achieving that rich flavor and delightful texture.
The Ultimate Snickers Cookie Recipe Requires:
- Unsalted butter, softened to room temperature for smooth mixing.
- Granulated sugar, for classic sweetness and crispy edges.
- Brown sugar, providing moisture and a deep, molasses-like flavor that enhances the chewiness.
- Your favorite peanut butter, whether creamy for a smoother texture or crunchy for an extra nutty bite.
- Large eggs, binding the ingredients and contributing to the rich texture.
- A splash of milk of your choice, adding just enough liquid for perfect dough consistency.
- Pure vanilla extract, enhancing all the sweet flavors.
- All-purpose flour, the foundational dry ingredient for structure.
- Baking soda, the leavening agent that helps them rise and become wonderfully soft.
- A pinch of salt, balancing the sweetness and intensifying the flavors.
- An assortment of your favorite chips: Ghirardelli milk chocolate chips, peanut butter chips, salted caramel chips, or semi-sweet chocolate chips (for an authentic experience, we recommend a mix of peanut butter and milk chocolate chips!).
- Plenty of chopped Snickers bars or mini Snickers, roughly chopped to ensure gooey pockets of candy goodness.

Step-by-Step Instructions: How to Bake Snickers Peanut Butter Cookies
Follow these simple steps to create a batch of the most delicious Snickers Peanut Butter Cookies you’ve ever tasted. Remember, baking is about love and a little bit of precision!
- Prepare Your Oven: Start by preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C). This ensures your cookies bake evenly from the moment they enter the oven.
- Cream Wet Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, using an electric mixer, combine the softened butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and peanut butter. Beat these together until they are well-creamed, light, and fluffy. This process incorporates air, contributing to a softer cookie.
- Add Egg and Flavorings: Next, add the large egg, milk of choice, and vanilla extract to the creamed mixture. Mix until everything is just combined. Be careful not to overmix at this stage.
- Combine Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt. This ensures the leavening agent and salt are evenly distributed throughout the dough.
- Integrate Dry and Wet Mixtures: Gradually add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing on low speed until just combined. Overmixing flour can lead to tough cookies, so stop as soon as no dry streaks remain.

The Final Touches: Folding in Goodies & Baking to Perfection
Now comes the fun part – adding the stars of the show and baking your incredible cookies!
- Fold in the Treats: Gently fold in your chosen chocolate chips and most of the chopped Snickers bar pieces. Reserve a few Snickers bits to press onto the tops of the warm cookies fresh out of the oven for an extra appealing finish.
- Scoop and Place: Using a large ice cream scoop (about 3 tablespoons), scoop generous portions of dough onto baking sheets. Line your baking sheets with parchment paper for easy cleanup and to prevent sticking, or simply use ungreased sheets. Space them out, allowing about 6 cookies per sheet, as these will be delightfully large and thick!
- Shape for Success: For that perfect, classic peanut butter cookie look, gently flatten each scoop of dough with your hand or create a traditional criss-cross pattern using the tines of a fork. This helps them bake evenly and gives them a charming homemade aesthetic.
- Bake Until Golden: Bake for 12-16 minutes at 350°F (175°C). Baking times can vary slightly depending on your oven, so keep an eye on them. The cookies should be golden brown around the edges but still slightly soft in the center when removed from the oven.
- Cooling is Key: Once baked, remove the cookie sheets from the oven and let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 2-3 minutes. This crucial step allows them to set up properly and prevents them from falling apart when transferred.
- Decorate While Warm: While the cookies are still warm on the baking sheet, gently press any remaining Snickers candy bits onto their tops. This ensures they adhere nicely and adds a beautiful, irresistible topping.
- Final Cooling: After their initial rest, carefully transfer the cookies to a wire cooling rack to cool completely. This prevents the bottoms from becoming soggy and ensures a perfectly crisp exterior with a soft, chewy interior.
- Yield: This recipe typically yields 18 generously sized Snickers Peanut Butter Cookies, perfect for sharing… or not!

Expert Tips & Creative Ideas for Your Snickers Peanut Butter Cookies
Elevate your cookie game with these helpful tips and exciting variations to make your Snickers Peanut Butter Cookies even more phenomenal.
- Stuff for Extra Indulgence: For an explosive Snickers experience, try stuffing your cookies! Simply scoop out a portion of dough, press a piece of Snickers candy bar into the center, then enclose it completely with more dough, rolling it into a ball. These stuffed cookies are incredibly popular for festive occasions like Thanksgiving, Christmas, and the 4th of July.
- Mix-in Mania: Don’t limit yourself to just Snickers and chocolate chips! Experiment with other delicious add-ins like mini peanut butter cups, colorful M&M’s, or crunchy Reese’s Pieces for even more texture and flavor dimensions.
- Patience is a Virtue (for Cooling): As tempting as it is to move them immediately, always allow your cookies to set on the baking sheet for a few minutes after baking. This allows their structure to firm up; otherwise, they could crumble.
- Mastering Flour Measurement: For consistent results, measure your flour correctly. Spoon it into your measuring cup and then level it off with a straight edge. Don’t pack it!
- Adjusting Batch Size: Need fewer cookies? You can easily halve this Snickers cookie recipe for a smaller batch. Craving more? Feel free to double the recipe to feed a crowd or stock your cookie jar!
- Serving Suggestions: These cookies are phenomenal on their own, but they also pair wonderfully with a cold glass of milk, a scoop of vanilla ice cream, or even a warm cup of coffee.

Storing Your Snickers Peanut Butter Cookies
Proper storage ensures your delicious cookies stay fresh and enjoyable for as long as possible.
- Store cooled cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to three days. For optimal freshness, consider adding a slice of bread to the container to help keep them soft.
